A mirrored table stretched across Milk Studios in Los Angeles, set for eighty. At its center — an intimate collision of color, texture, and flavor. Guests from across the beauty and fashion world gathered to celebrate Milk Makeup’s arrival at Ulta Beauty. For the occasion, we created a family-style dinner that was both playful and composed — inspired by the sunlit ease of California and the bold simplicity of Italian cooking.
Creative California-Meets-Italy Catering Menu for Beauty Industry Event
Experience unforgettable catering by Cava & Cake at a Beverly Hills luncheon for Tata Harper Skincare, hosted by Zoë de Givenchy at her stunning mid-century modern home. A celebration of green beauty and elegant dining.
The menu was earthy, with bright accents of color and flavor — a reflection of California’s spring produce through the timeless lens of Italian cooking. Antipasto arrived as a trio of small plates: cool, creamy burrata with lemon zest, the finest bresaola layered with aged Parmigiano, and a vibrant fennel carpaccio dressed with kumquats and toasted pistachios — a plant-based standout designed for flavor, not compromise. All were served alongside golden focaccia, honeycomb, walnuts, and dried figs — the quiet staples of Italian-Californian abundance.
For mains, we served delicate branzino fillets topped with a grappa-infused raisin agrodolce — sweet, savory, and gently fragrant. Alongside them, thick-cut porterhouse steak, marinated in garlic and herbs, roasted to bring out its richness and depth. The plates were anchored by a colorful composition of local vegetables: roasted Romanesco, baby kale sprouts, and watermelon radish, served alongside a velvety parsnip and purée. Some of the dishes were served on iconic platters by Gianfranco Frattini — a subtle nod to modernist design and timeless elegance.

Set against lush greenery and the iconic ZdG plate collection, this Beverly Hills luncheon paired Avaline organic wines with refined dishes, showcasing the essence of green beauty and sophistication.
